TOMORROW TODAY

(maz/gig)

Heard about the whole affair,

I know you think that I don’t care,

But there’s really nothing I can do.

I tried to tell you long ago,

You didn’t seem to want to know,

Now you’re standing there without a clue.

Now there’s no tomorrow,

You’ve got to face today.

Bring your pain and sorrow,

And your heavy feet of clay.

I don’t care what they say,

It’s a straight and narrow way.

All you say and do will follow you,

Tomorrow is today.

I know you think it isn’t fair,

You had a little more than your share,

But there’s more to this than meets the eye.

You’re lookin’ for friend to blame,

But in th         e end we’re all the same,

Some times you have to wait when you ask why.

Now there’s no tomorrow,

You’ve got to face today.

Bring your pain and sorrow,

And your heavy feet of clay.

I don’t care what they say,

It’s a straight and narro w way.

All you say and do will follow you,

Tomorrow is today.

Time goes by…

The eyes don’t lie…

And so, your heart will let you know what’s true…

Now you want to go on back,

To try and find the pieces  that you lack,

But you can’t cross t hose bridges  once they’ve burned.

Maybe you should look    ahead,

There’s plenty there to warm your bed,

You’d be surprised at all you’ve learned.

NOW…..

Now there’s no tomorrow,

You’ve got to f ace today.

Bring your pain and sorrow,

And your heavy feet of clay.

I don’t care what they say,

It’s a straight and narrow way.

All you say and do will follow you,

Tomorrow is today.

JUST A GLANCE AWAY

(maz/gig)

He’s a figment of his own imagination,

Pumpin’ up himself is his occupation.

Lookin’ at the world, through his great ideas…

Never realizing he’s just a glance away from here.

He memorized all the special things they told him,

But he never really let anybody hold him.

Always on the run, with a glass of beer…

Never realizing he’s just a glance away from here.

What used to be is not what is,

What is is not what will be.

The past is just a ball and chain,

The ghost of you and me.

Yeah he’s livin’ it up or so he thinks so,

Puts his face in a jar until the next show.

Lookin’ for a camera, runnin’ from the fear…

Never realizing he’s just a glance away from here.

Now he sits all alone in a room with someone

Who comes from his past and won’t come undone.

Thinkin’ up a way, to make him disappear…

Never realizing he’s just a glance away from here.

CHRISTIAN VAMPIRE

(maz/gig)

I was walkin’ down the street late one night

Lookin’ for a place to eat,

When a man walked up with a book in his hand

Steppin’ on both my feet.

He looked me in the eye, and started to cry,

And asked me if I knew the Lord.

I said I thought so, then started to go,

I noticed he was kind’a bored.

He was a… Christian Vampire,

A comin’ after me.

He was a… Christian Vampire,

Just wouldn’t let me be.

I started to run, but I didn’t get far,

 When another one cornered me.

He flashed me a grin, and spoke of my sin,

Then said, “Turn to page 43!”

So I opened my book and I read with him,

But I wasn’t really there.

I felt like I was sinkin’ deep into his stinkin’ thinkin’

And I couldn’t come up for air.

He was a… Christian Vampire,

Suckin’ my energy.

He was a… Christian Vampire,

Just wouldn’t let me be.

I flashed him my cross, then he flashed me his,

By now I was really sick.

Then I saw a pizza man, inside his pizza van,

And I waved him over really quick.

I paid him some cash, he was back in a flash,

You should’a heard those vampires cry.

He was an ordinary guy, who never asked why,

I ordered ten garlic pies.

For the… Christian Vampire,

A comin’ after me.

He was a… Christian Vampire,

Just wouldn’t let me be.

 WORKIN’ ON THE INSIDE

(maz/gig)

Workin’ on the Inside,

You’re a secret agent man.

Give ‘em what they want boy,

But don’t let ‘em see the plan.

Workin’ on the Inside,

You have to give a little.

Standing in the shadows,

You try and solve the riddle.

Workin’ on the Inside,

There’s danger all around.

The devil wears a halo,

So don’t you make a sound.

Cool water wears the rock,

As lightning strikes the tree.

So stand your ground and don’t look down,

There’s hope for you and me.

Workin’ on the Inside,

They’ll try and pressure you.

They’ll wink their eyes, and paint their lies,

You’ll wonder what to do.

Workin’ on the Inside,

The inmates they’re all blue.

Workin’ on the inside,

Jack Nicholson and you.

Workin’ on the Inside,

You see what’s it’s about.

So raise your guard and play your cards,

And turn the Inside out.

Cool water wears the rock,

As lightning strikes the tree.

So stand your ground and don’t look down,

There’s hope f    or you and me.

Workin’ on the Inside,

You’ll wonder just who’s who.

The walls have ears to hear your fears,

And echo back at you.

I LOVE YOU

(maz/gig)

My mother hates me,

My father hates me too.

I heard them in the bathroom

When we were at the zoo.

The monkeys heard them also,

They whispered it to me.

They want to lock me up with them

And throw away the key.

I love you, I love you,

I love you like the sun.

I love you, I love you,

But you’re not the only one.

My friends are acting strangely,

They’ve parties every week.

They’re running ‘round in circles,

They scare me when they speak.

They buy their soap from Amway,

They’re feeding on each other.

They’re turning into zombies,

They’re trying to eat my brother.

I love you, I love you,

I love you like the rain.

I love you, I love you,

But you’re driving me insane.

What makes the day so lonely?

What makes us all so blue?

What makes the time so boring?

I think I have a clue…

Don’t take it all so serious,

Don’t paint it all so blue.

Remember life’s a bowl of cherries,

The pits are seeds too.

I love you, I love you,

I love you like the day.

I love you, I love you,

But I have to go away.

I love you, I love you,

I love you like the son.

I love you, I love you,

But you’re not the only one.

IF HE WALKED DOWN YOUR STREET

(maz/gig)

If He walked down your street today,

Tell me just what is it you would say?

Could you stand face to face away,

If He walked down your street today?

A faithful servant, a humble pilgrim,

Would you even recognize Him?

I bet you’d be singin’ Sinatra’s My Way,

If He walked down your street today.

Would you ask if the war He fought

So long ago was won?

Would you ask Him to do more

Than He’d already done?

Why do you sit and wait for His return?

Didn’t He say to prove what we would learn?

You wonder why your world has turned so blue,

You want Him to do your work for you.

Would you ask how He played the game

And if He got the win?

Would you ask Him to hang on

That cross for you again?

MINDING FOR GOLD

(maz/gig)

Dig hard and deep

And you’ll strike gold,

Sit back and watch

And you’ll grow old.

Dig hard and deep,

It hurts I know.

But when you’re done

The truth will show.

Dig though pain, dig through fear,

Dig till things are crystal clear.

Dig with faith, dig with love,

Dig with help from up above.

The hold yourself up high to God

And ask Him if you’re real,

If He smiles and says, “Hello”

You’ll know you’ve got a deal.

Dig hard and deep

And soon you’ll see,

Just who in life

You need to be.

Dig hard and deep,

Then look around.

First you’re lost,

Then you’re found.

Dig through facts, dig through lies,

Dig through empty laughter’s cries.

Dig with faith, dig with love,

Dig with help from up above.

Then go out and save the world,

It’ll probably take all day.

Come home at night, get some rest,

And don’t forget to pray.

Dig hard and deep,

Find the thorn.

A little death,

Then you’re born.

Dig hard and deep,

But not too far.

An empty mind,

A shining star.

FRIENDSHIP

(maz/gig)

I thought you were a friend of mine,

But now you treat me so unkind.

You never call, you never write,

Just why are you so uptight?

I think that you’re afraid of me,

Of what I know, of what I see.

Can’t we talk, can’t we fight,

Can’t we find out just what’s right?

I’m so very sad today,

Sadder than these words can say.

Thought we had a love so fine,

Now our clock’s run out of time.

Say your sorry, say a prayer,

But the trut h is you don’t care.

I stabbed you in the   back it’s true,

But didn’t I come back  for you?

Forgive me once, forgive me twice,

Forgive me if I’m not so nice.

The Father, Son and the Holy Ghost,

Fame and fortune, brag and boast.

You had a vision, well so did I,

It was deep and dark and filled the sky.

Hey I’m sorry about that time,

Please forgive me in this rhyme.

We had good times, we had bad,

Now it’s over what we had.

Here’s the future, here’s the past,

You were first and now you’re last. MDS-CBI

THE PARTY ROOM

(maz/gig)

The Party Room

Seems dark and gray,

Still many go

To spend their day.

It’s in the papers, On TV.

They say it’s where

You ought to be.

The Party Room,

Just follow the crowd.

But be fair warned,

The talk’s real loud.

I went there once

And stayed too long,

Lost my sense Of right and wrong.

The Party Room,

Your friends are there.

But are they real?

And do they care?

The walls are black, The ceiling’s white.

Plastic people, No help in sight.

The Party Room,

It’s just your mind.

So don’t get fooled,

Stay behind.

The only way out’s

The way you came in,

Too many get trapped,

The pleasure of sin.
